About Us

Our Mission

The mission of the Timothy C. Hauenstein Reynolds Township Library (TCHRTL) is to provide an environment where lifelong habits of learning, self-improvement, and self-expression are encouraged and where patrons can meet their educational, informational and recreational needs.

TCHRTL is a part of the Lakeland Library Cooperative. TCHRTL is located at 117 W Williams St in Howard City and serves the citizens of the Village of Howard City, Pierson and Reynolds Townships, as well as portions of Maple Valley and Winfield Townships within the Tri County Area School District including .

Books, audiobooks, and music CDs are available for 3-week checkout. DVDs are available for 1-week checkout. Most materials, with the exception of some DVDs, are free of charge and available to any patron with a valid library card. Other services available for small fees include copy machine, fax machine, laminator and computer printer. The library has eight public access computers offering free internet and Microsoft Office applications.  Library programming is available for children and adults, including toddler/preschool storytimes, book clubs, tween activities and informational classes. TCHRTL believes in providing knowledgeable and friendly staff. Staff members are continually learning methods and information to better equip them for their jobs. Every effort is made to provide all of our patrons with quality service.
