About the Event
Sit back and enjoy the color and beauty of Victorian Secrets on on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Community Room at Timothy C. Hauenstein Reynolds Township Library.
Presenter Wendy Batchelder will help you discover the obsolete, but still charming, hidden language of flowers and fans. Discover a hidden message of love, condolence, or friendship in a simple ribbon tied bouquet of blossoms. Find out how an elegant fan could be used to convey a message or ask a question from across a crowded ballroom. Guests are invited to examine beautiful antique fans of all shapes and sizes, "language of flowers" books, postcards, calling cards, and flower dictionaries from the early 1800s. Be inspired to plant a meaningful flower to celebrate a child's birth or special occasion, or learn to construct a special posy to give to a friend.
